CME Supports America's Naval Blockade of Iran

WASHINGTON – The Coalition for Military Excellence (CME), a national organization dedicated to advocating for veterans and military excellence in the U.S. armed forces, issued the following statement in support of President Trump’s naval blockade in Iran:

"The United States Navy is demonstrating exactly what military excellence looks like. President Trump's decision to blockade the Strait of Hormuz is a bold and necessary response to Iran's extortion of the world's shipping lanes, and a clear signal that American strength will not be held hostage to bad-faith negotiations.

"The men and women aboard the USS Gerald R. Ford, the USS Abraham Lincoln, and every warship in those strike groups are executing their mission with the precision, professionalism, and courage that define the finest military in the world. The clearing of Iranian mines from international waters is not just a tactical operation. It is a statement that the United States will defend the free flow of commerce and the rule of law at sea.

"Iran has spent more than four decades targeting and killing Americans through direct attacks, proxy forces, and acts of terrorism across the globe. They have also spent months attempting to profit from extortion, threatening allied shipping while pocketing millions from nations willing to pay for safe passage. That ends now. President Trump is right to use every instrument of American naval power to deny the regime this revenue stream and force a reckoning over its nuclear ambitions.
