CME Applauds American Disaster Relief Aid in the Philippines

WASHINGTON –  The Coalition for Military Excellence (CME), a national organization dedicated to advocating for veterans and military excellence in the U.S. armed forces, issued the following statement in the wake of the massive U.S. response to the natural disasters in the Philippines.

The Coalition for Military Excellence commends the U.S. Armed Forces for their swift and decisive action in supporting disaster-relief operations in the Philippines following the devastation of Typhoons Kalmaegi and Fung-Wong.

The Philippines occupies a critical strategic position in the Indo-Pacific, serving as both a steadfast ally and a key partner in maintaining regional stability amid growing challenges from China’s aggressive expansionism. Our presence and readiness in the Philippines not only strengthen our mutual defense commitments but also demonstrate America’s enduring leadership and compassion in times of crisis.

Missions like these highlight the indispensable role of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps, forces built to respond rapidly, operate under tough conditions, and deliver aid where it is needed most. Their ability to pivot from deterrence to humanitarian assistance exemplifies the excellence and readiness that define America’s military. As we support our allies and uphold stability in the Indo-Pacific, it remains essential that the U.S. military continue to prioritize operational readiness, merit-based leadership, and mission-focused excellence.
