WASHINGTON – The Coalition for Military Excellence (CME), a national organization dedicated to advocating for veterans and military excellence in the U.S. armed forces, issued the following statement in response to the Army's announcement of the fielding of the new XM204 top-attack weapon system:
CME strongly supports the U.S. Army’s deployment of the XM204 top-attack munition to forward-deployed units such as the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Vilseck, Germany. This cutting-edge, armor-piercing capability represents precisely the kind of innovation our warfighters need to maintain a decisive edge on the modern battlefield.
As threats evolve and adversaries grow bolder, America must continue to equip its service members with the most effective, mission-focused tools possible. The XM204 will enhance the lethality and survivability of our forces operating on NATO’s front lines.
“CME applauds the Army’s investment in high-impact systems that not only strengthen deterrence in Europe, but also reflect a commitment to safety, accountability, and alignment with international standards. We urge continued bipartisan support for defense innovation that empowers our troops, reinforces our global commitments, and keeps America strong, secure, and mission-ready,” said Amber Smith, CME Military Advisor.
The Coalition for Military Excellence (CME) is a national organization dedicated to advocating for veterans and military excellence in the U.S. armed forces. CME is committed to combating policies and practices that undermine military excellence and threaten veteran support services. CME’s mission is to ensure the United States military remains focused on our nation's security through merit, strength, and excellence, while advocating for veteran rights, benefits, and resources.
