CME Proudly Celebrates Military Appreciation Month

WASHINGTON – The Coalition for Military Excellence (CME), a national organization dedicated to advocating for veterans and military excellence in the U.S. armed forces, issued the following statement recognizing May as Military Appreciation Month:

"Military Appreciation Month is a time to recognize the extraordinary men and women who have committed themselves to defending our nation with honor, discipline, and unwavering dedication. Their service represents the very best of America – rooted in merit, strengthened by rigorous training, and sustained by a deep sense of duty.

"At a time when our armed forces face evolving global threats like a war in Iran, alongside internal challenges to readiness and retention, it is more important than ever to reaffirm our commitment to the principles that make our military the most capable in the world. Excellence in leadership, high standards in training, and a clear focus on mission readiness are not optional. They are essential to national security.

"We must also recognize that appreciation goes beyond words. It requires action. That means ensuring our servicemembers have the resources, training, and leadership they need to succeed on the battlefield, and that our veterans receive the care, benefits, and respect they have earned when they return home. A grateful nation must be a responsible one, and Secretary Hegseth and the Trump administration are righting past wrongs.

"CME calls on policymakers, military leaders, and the American public to use this month as an opportunity to recommit to strengthening our force, not through symbolism, but substance. By prioritizing merit, preparedness, retention, and responsible funding, we can ensure that the legacy of those who serve continues to define American strength for generations to come.
