WASHINGTON – The Coalition for Military Excellence (CME), a national organization dedicated to advocating for veterans and military excellence in the U.S. armed forces, issued the following statement after reports of a significant reduction in backlogs at the VA:
CME commends the significant 45% reduction in the VA benefits backlog. Our nation’s warfighters have bravely defended our freedoms, and it is our duty to ensure they receive the timely care and benefits they have rightfully earned.
This important progress demonstrates a renewed focus on improving the veterans’ claims process, honoring their service by reducing wait times and streamlining access to support. CME believes that every veteran deserves prompt, high-quality care that reflects the same excellence they showed in uniform.
“While there is more work ahead, these improvements signal a strong commitment to upholding our responsibility to those who served. These latest developments out of the VA encourage Americans who will serve in the future that they will be taken care of by our government. Our military excels on the battlefield. Now, we must ensure that excellence continues in how we care for our veterans at home,” said Amber Smith, CME Military Advisor.
