CME Praises Surging Recruitment From Air Force and Space Force

by CME Press Room | Published July 3, 2025

WASHINGTON – The Coalition for Military Excellence (CME), a national organization dedicated to advocating for veterans and military excellence in the U.S. armed forces, issued the following statement applauding the Air Force and Space Force for achieving their recruitment benchmarks three months in advance.

Coalition partners state the following:

Amber Smith, CME Military Liaison:

“The news that the Air Force and Space Force have exceeded their recruitment goals three months ahead of schedule is more than a milestone. It’s a turning point. This surge reflects a military that is regaining focus, strength, and credibility. As someone who has seen firsthand what service requires, I know that young Americans step up when they believe in the mission and leadership. Today’s success proves that when readiness, discipline, and tradition are prioritized over ideology, the next generation is inspired to answer the call.”

Jay Collins, Florida State Senator & Army Special Forces Veteran:

“Rebuilding our military starts with strong leadership, and that’s exactly what we’re seeing now. Under President Trump and Secretary Hegseth, the Department of Defense has refocused on warfighter skills, mission excellence, and service over politics. As someone who’s led soldiers in combat and understands the price of weak leadership, I applaud this renewed clarity. Surpassing recruitment goals is about restoring pride, purpose, and trust in our armed forces so we can protect and preserve all that we love right here at home.”

Nico Melendez, 34-year Navy Veteran:

“After decades in uniform and in public service, I can say this recruiting success represents more than a trend. It’s a cultural resurgence. For years, the military’s core values were blurred by distractions, and the consequences were evident in declining morale and enlistment. Now, the tide is turning. We saw that yesterday with the Air Force and Space Force, and we saw it recently with the Navy as well. Americans are again seeing a military that honors its traditions and stands strong in its mission. That renewed belief in service is why young men and women are stepping forward again to serve their country.”
